[...] RSS Feeds, oder keine RSS Feeds? Meine �bliche Browserstartseite bekam ich bis jetzt von Netvibes geliefert, einem Service der neben unz�hligen Gadgets vor allem als Feed-Reader funktioniert. Die Folge war ein st�ndiger Blick auf die Startseite und als Ablenkung von anderen T�tigkeiten auch ein schneller Klick sobald eine Newsseite eine neue Nachricht brachte oder eines meiner Lieblingsblogs einen neuen Beitrag postete. Wahrscheinlich bin ich auch deshalb letzte Woche probeweise auf Favoor umgestiegen, zwar bietet auch dieser Service einen Feedreader an, aber das Angebot ist f�r einen solchen Einsatz eher unkomfortabel. Deshalb nutze ich Favoor haupts�chlich als eine Art Linkverzeichnis und surfe diese Liste je nach Lust und Laune ein oder zwei Mal am Tag ab. Stellt sich jetzt die Frage an meine Blogleser, wie beantwortet ihr die Glaubensfrage: Sollte man ein RSS Feed-Junkie sein oder doch lieber der Blogbesucher-Typ? [...] Hab gerade mal meine Feeds durchsucht und etwas ausgemistet. Da waren einfach zu viele drin, die ich überhaupt nicht lese. Hat auch einen Grund, warum ich das gemacht habe, und zwar habe ich meinen Feed Reader gewechselt. Nachdem ich lange Zeit Gregarius benutzt habe, bin ich jetzt wieder bei bloglines. Zwischenzeitlich nutzte ich News Alloy und testete weitere, wie z.B. synapselife. Warum das Ganze? Ich bin auf der Suche nach einem Feed Reader, der mir wirklich zusagt. Nachdem ich keinen gefunden habe, bin ich zu Bloglines zurückgekehrt, optimal ist der meiner Meinung nach aber auch nicht. Wenn also jemand einen Tipp hat, bitte her damit. Mein Feed-Reader soll nicht überladen sein, klare und simple Strukturen haben, Feeds nach Themen sortieren können und natürlich mit den üblichen RSS-Standards klarkommen. [...]

[...] me parece importante estar informado. es más, me parece necesario, realmente indispensable (soy o quise ser periodista al fin y al cabo). hoy, estar informado es más fácil que nunca, y más barato también: uno puede estar al tanto del tinto sin siquiera hojear un diario ni ver la tele… sólo hay que enchufarse a la red. yo antes jamás compraba periódicos pero leía los que compraban primero mi viejo, después la empresa de los cevallos, y finalmente el torero o el flaco. revistas sí compraba… pero eso era por las chicas desnudas. cuando me mudé aquí simple y llanamente dejé de leer en papel y me pasé a la consulta en pantalla (cómo odié el tiempo que el país estuvo convertido en servicio de pago). ahora ya ni siquiera visito los sitios web de los medios de comunicación que me interesan: me he cambiado del todo a los feeds. mi ñaño, pese a que he intentado introducirlo al tema, dice que todavía no entiende para qué sirven. pues no veo la complicación: uno usa un lector o agregador de noticias y se suscribe a los feeds de los blogs, los diarios y las revistas que quiere leer, y a partir de entonces está permanentemente al día, porque, cada vez que abre el lector, éste le avisa de los contenidos nuevos, actualizados, no leídos. hay varios lectores disponibles (aquí a la izquierda pueden ver, por ejemplo, múltiples maneras de suscribirse a este humilde blog: sí, para eso sirven esos iconos, no están allí sólo de adorno… aunque también). yo probé algunos y, si bien en su día medio lo batracié, finalmente me decanté por bloglines, qué le vamos a hacer si siempre he sido más bien mainstream, hasta estaría dispuesto a defender a windows por encima de mac o de linux en la ya cansina polémica geek por antonomasia. poco a poco me he ido suscribiendo a diversos feeds hasta acabar con la friolera de 121: eso es a lo que yo llamo estar informado. el problema se presenta cuando, como ayer, por uno u otro motivo uno no revisa ni su correo electrónico, mucho menos abre bloglines. recién a la una de la mañana lo he hecho y he aquí la sorpresa: tengo por mirar 64 entradas de los blogs a los que les sigo la pista, 11 tiras cómicas, 624 noticias de los medios de prensa que he catalogado como esenciales, 1.377 de los que he puesto en la carpeta general, 23 sobre cine, 88 sobre música, 33 en la sección chismografía, 15 sobre ciencia, 418 sobre tecnología, 142 vídeos, etcétera. por supuesto, no hay vida para leer todo eso, y tal vez no sea tan importante estar informado (hace rato que abandoné el periodismo al fin y al cabo). al carajo pues: mark all read y a dormir. información, prensa, rss, feeds, bloglines, adicción [...]

Many of them are lame but a few can bring an upturned corner of my mouth (which might be mistaken for a smile…don’t worry, it isn’t).I’m posting this mainly to gear up for a review of the best RSS feed reader I’ve found for Linux. I should have it cinched up soon…but this RSS feed reader is by far and away the most robust reader I’ve ever seen and not many people know about it oddly enough.
