Why Did Jack Quaid’s Parents Divorce?
In a 2008 InStyle interview, Meg Ryan revealed that Dennis Quaid’s infidelity throughout their nine-year marriage was the cause of their divorce.
“Dennis was not faithful to me for a long time, and that was very painful,” Meg Ryan told the magazine, “I found out more about that once I was divorced.”
Dennis Quaid was quick to react to his ex-wife’s interview. “That was eight years ago—it’s unbelievable that Meg continues to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship publicly,” Dennis told the New York Daily News. “I also find it regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce.”

Meg dismissed these allegations during an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2006, stating that it was “never about another man” and that their marriage was unhealthy to begin with. “I probably should have left it much earlier,” she told Oprah. “I was very sad that it came apart in the way it seemed to have.”
Meanwhile, Dennis Quaid has something different to say about their divorce. During a 2018 interview with NBC, he mentioned that fame played a major role in their breakup. She’d regularly tune in to the superhero series The Boys, and once visited him on set during Homelander’s gruesome scene. “She was so into it,” Jack told Jimmy Kimmel in 2019. “I was disturbed by how into it she was. She was like, “That’s a lot of blood and guts. I’m digging it!”
